The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, celebrated having beaten FC Barcelona (0-4) at the Camp Nou to get into the Copa del Rey final thanks to a “complete” match in all senses, with ‘hat- trick’ included by Karim Benzema.
“It was a complete game, when you win 0-4 here, in every way. We have read well the moment of suffering for the team in the first half, with difficulty getting the ball out. The first goal changes the dynamics, then we find spaces in transitions and we created a lot of damage in the second half,” he said at a press conference.
Ancelotti pointed to what was said in the locker room as a possible revulsion for the second half. “The approach was the same as in the LaLiga Clásico, I changed the position of Rodrygo, for Valverde, to give more depth. The great detail today of the first goal, which was fantastic, determined the second half. We talked about what was important in the dressing room to reach a final”, he acknowledged.
After losing the last three Clásicos, this victory reassures Real Madrid and confirms, after the defeat of Valladolid in LaLiga, the team’s improvement. “The boiler has returned to its temperature, at the most important moment of the season.
