MADRID, March 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Club Atlético Osasuna wants the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) to clarify why Moroccan Ez Abde’s goal has been annulled this Monday, considering that the VAR image does not finish defining the offside indicated to ‘Chimy’ Avila.
“CA Osasuna requests clarification from the Technical Committee of Referees for Abde’s disallowed goal in tonight’s match against Real Club Celta de Vigo. The image offered by the VAR on the position of ‘Chimy’ Ávila does not prove that the supposed irregular position of the striker in the action,” the Navarrese team said in a statement after the game.
The Murcian referee José María Sánchez Martínez did not validate the winger’s goal in the second half and that it would have meant 1-0, after the VOR room confirmed that the Argentine striker, who went to finish off and finally let the ball pass Abde’s center to mislead Iván Villar, participated and was in an irregular position.
Osasuna warned that “he will demand an explanation from the arbitration body through official channels to clarify if, as it seems, a serious error has occurred in the use of technology” that has harmed him “notably.”
“The club reiterates its utmost respect for the refereeing group and is also positioned in favor of the use of technology to help in their difficult work. However, it strongly demands that the application of these tools be carried out with the necessary rigor in a competition of maximum level like LaLiga Santander”, sentenced the Navarrese club.
