The Madrid club seeks to compensate the players of Barça and Real Sociedad, who had to collect their medals themselves after the final

MADRID, March 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The FFC Olympia Las Rozas youngest team has decided to melt down all their medals to create a star with one point missing, as a sign of the lack of equality in sport, and hand it over to the players of FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad, which in the final of the Spanish Super Cup had to collect their medals themselves.

Through the #EstrellasPorLaIgualdad campaign, carried out in collaboration with the official sponsor of the Benjamin team, the communication agency APPLE TREE, the club wants to claim “equality in football and a more equal future for its players”.

The youngest players have already sent the Catalans and San Sebastian a star with one point missing, a symbol of all those athletes who suffer inequality every day. In addition, the women’s soccer club has created a website so that anyone who wants to symbolically donate their ‘medal’ can join this movement of homage and respect.

The CEO and founder of the APPLE TREE agency, Carme Miró, highlighted the importance of the initiative. “As an agency, we have always worked to achieve equality in areas where there is still a large gender gap such as football. For this reason, when the youngest women shared their initiative with us, we believed that we should join in and help them achieve their dream and pay homage to their idols,” he said.
